ABOUT:
An intimate portrait of Daje Shelton, a seventeen year old whom a judge orders to enroll in an alternative school. This emotional coming of age story unfolds against the backdrop of the 2014 uprising in Ferguson, Missouri, illuminating the nuances of St. Louis’ troubled educational and economic systems and the deeply personal experiences of the students they impact.
A post-screening conversation moderated by Josh Gupta-Kagan, Assistant Professor of Law at USC about youth and education accompanies the program.
This film is a part of the For the Record series.
